Published Work

I've been lucky enough to work with diverse publications from a creative journal to a repair manual for a power tool.

NOT FOR SALE: Time Capsule

This issue of The Studio Journal Magazine was focused on time: The outlines of our lives and the resource we all can't get enough of. This issue I explored a century old tradition of encapsulating an era in a tin can. Discover the phenomenon of the Time Capsule below:

Kodachrome Gardens

This issue of The Studio Journal Magazine was focused on food: the substance we ingest, the knowledge that fuels our brains, the love that feeds the soul, etc. I was tasked with encapsulated how a community garden feeds a society both literally and on a larger scale.

Don't Sweat it, Or do

Writing for the publication, Studio, the theme this time being Hot, I was thinking about the southern heat and humidity; the summer seems to last forever in Alabama’s clammy palm, but sweat is a gift from our exocrine system, it releases toxins from the body. I was going to saunas a lot around this time, and went to one of the oldest bathhouses in New York City, and that’s what inspired, “Don’t Sweat It.”

The Singing River

I began writing for the magazine Studio in 2020, a crucial time for the US and my writing. Through political turmoil and the COVID-19 pandemic, I started to think about what was most essential to life. The theme of that issue was Water and I started to think about my relationship with the subject. Growing up on a farm, splashing around Cypress creek, and the greater implications of water on a town founded on the Tennessee river, I was inspired to write “The Singing River.”

Ryobi Blower P2108

This is a project I completed for school. It was outside of my comfort zone, as I am not a power tool aficionado, but I am confident in my ability to approach writing in many fields.
