My Work
I'm excited to share some of my recent projects, each showcasing my versatility as a writer across diverse rhetorical contexts.

In The Beginning There was Tituba: a Woman

this is a retracing of the steps of a fictionalized Tituba, through the lens of a Timucua women. The Timucua were located in Florida during the 15-17th century, “discovered” by Hernando De Soto 1539-42. Due to epidemics, warfare, and displacement, the Timucua people declined by 80 percent by 1650. Timucua religion worshipped the sun and moon and had Shamans that: predict the future, curse people, control the weather, perform blessings, and cure people. I am also exploring the theories of historicism: historical events supposedly evolve in order to fulfill a certain purpose within a definite totality and Historical Materialism: regards history as contingent and pays attention to the very process through which past events are excavated and interpreted under particular present circumstances
A Partial Definition of Lonely

Inspired by Chelsea Biondolillo's "Notes toward A Partial Definition of Home," I tried to define what loneliness meant to me. I have been seeing a discussion happening on social media about "youngest child lore," and as the youngest of four, this is my contribution to the conversation. This is a voice to the feeling of your relatives out-growing you and trying to grow up yourself. Disclaimer: I have a good relationship with my siblings today, I don't hold resentment toward my family. These are feelings from specific moments, they do not encapsulate a lifetime.
Sam's Table
A personal narrative about my early days in New York, where every interaction feels like a test and every moment a lesson in adaptation. From barely making the subway to navigating an unexpected dinner with a media insider, this story explores the city’s unspoken rules, the weight of connections, and the quiet thrill of finding my place in it all.

Revision Example

This is a look into my revision process. I included a poem I wrote, for a Genres in Creative Writing class, that started with a first draft, and then was revised and reshaped into an eventual third draft. It it interesting to see what changes through revision, as well as what stays. I highlighted some words and phrases that remained unchanged as a reference for all that was revised.
